SHOE BOX APPEAL

SHOE BOX APPEAL

*************

Hello my crafty friends J

Well, what have I been up to for the last couple of weeks?  Painting, painting, painting, (mostly), with a dash of card making just to keep it interesting.

But for a change, I have been working on canvases for me, rather than friends, family or customers.  Here is the video of one of the canvases I have been working on

The other canvas is humongous, so I have not been able to film the process (I’ve not actually finished the process either).  When I have finished said humongous canvas, I will upload a few photos.  I have tried to remember to take a few whilst I have been working on it.

Annnnyyyywwaaaayyyy, back to the SHOE BOX!

I try to remember each year, to make up a shoe box for the Samaritans Purse Appeal.  It’s something that I started doing when the girls were younger, and I have just carried on each Christmas.

It may be a little late for you to complete your own shoe box now as I believe the cut off date for dropping the boxes off is 18th November, however you can make a box online.  Here is the link to their page if you are interested in making up your own box for SAMARITAN’S PURSE.

First I found a medium sized shoe box

Then covered it in Christmas wrapping (making sure to wrap the lid and box separately).

I then filled my box with suitable gifts (see the website for suggestions)

Downloaded the label, and marked my label with the gender and age group corresponding to the gifts in my box.

And finally enclosed my £3.00 donation (to cover the cost of shipping), and a gift aid form, and secured my lid with an elastic band.  All that is left for me to do now is to drop my shoe box off to the local drop off point, which I will do first thing in the morning.

I hope it brings a child somewhere in the world a little piece of joy.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and read my ramblings

Tata for now

MONEY SAVING TIPS

MONEY SAVING TIPS

*************

Hello my crafty friends J

Today I have something a little bit different for you...

Some of you may already know (if you watch my Youtube channel) that I like to save money where possible.

This weekend most of my soap dispensers ran out..... I know, hold the front page right!!!

Anyway, it occurred to me that you might be interested in how I save money when replenishing my soap dispensers?

So here it is...

I buy the cheapest ‘foam bath’/’bubble bath’ that I can find

and I fill all of my posh dispensers (well, poshish), with the cheep replacement.

Voila! And there it is.

Hope this helps you in your quest to save the pennies.

Take care my crafty friends

Lots of love

Jane J x
